Chris Boek
Art Director

A graphic designer, photographer and creative marketer with Southern charm

Chris is a jack of all trades when it comes to marketing and content creation. After graduating from George Mason University in 2009, he began his career as a graphic designer and sometimes travel writer for a quarterly metro DC-based publication. In 2013, a writing assignment brought him to Amelia Island, Florida, where he ended up loving the location so much that he stayed put.

Chris soon pivoted from design to digital marketing, working in the hospitality industry for one of the island's premier oceanfront resorts. While employed there, he discovered a love for photography/videography, shooting content frequently for the resort and shadowing the professional photographers who often shot on location. During one of these shoots, Chris became chummy with the Creative Director on set, who eventually offered him a job with Garden & Gun, a Charleston, South Carolina-based publication. In Charleston, Chris further honed his design, photography, and video skills, working for clients like Maker's Mark, Volvo, and Visit Charleston, all while developing a deep appreciation for bourbon and Southern cuisine.

Another pivot found Chris back on Amelia Island, working again for his previous employer, Omni Hotels & Resorts. This time, he took over creative services for the entire brand instead of creating content for just one of its resorts. Chris helmed an in-house studio that created and produced 30 photo/video shoots throughout 2019, creating a plethora of social, digital, and OTT ads that were implemented across the brand's entire portfolio.

Promoted to Dad and transitioning to agency life

In March of 2020, with travel at a standstill due to Covid-19, Chris began another chapter in his career as a stay-at-home dad to his six-month old son, perhaps his most rewarding job to date. Although this new role was physically demanding (over 1,000 diaper changes) and emotionally taxing (nearly 500 tantrums), it wasn't without its upsides, which included lots of bike rides and trips to the park. In his latest role with Reputation Ink, Chris manages design and art direction for the brand and its numerous clients. He is grateful that the position does not require any additional diaper changes.

In his spare time, Chris enjoys laughing at his own jokes, being a nuisance to his lovely wife, Amy, and chasing around his two very small but demanding children. He also listens to an unhealthy amount of true crime podcasts and proudly considers himself a music and film snob.
