Maria joined the Reputation Ink team in September 2015 to immerse herself in agency life (and the Wine Down Fridays). She brings her passion for writing, branding and PR as a member of Reputation Ink’s talented content marketers.
A Philly-suburbia native, she is happy to have traded in the Wawa hoagies and snow days for ocean breezes and daily downpours. Her Northeastern roots give her a strong appreciation for Southern hospitality, but zero tolerance for biscuits and gravy.
Most recently, Maria served as the go-to marketing and communications gal for Stratton & Company Retirement Financial Strategies, where she became well-versed in B2C marketing strategies, event planning and management of the company’s content and design. Here she developed a love for content marketing and realized the value in thought leadership, customer service and keeping busy in retirement.
Online social butterfly
Prior to Stratton & Company, Maria interned with CarMax’s corporate PR team in Richmond, Virginia. She quickly learned how to pitch a news story and facilitate new-store grand openings across the country (and got plenty of practice with those big ribbon-cutting scissors). She crafted multiple top-performing social media posts and was valuable to the content manager with ideas, including a large-scale video production project. A PR crisis situation during her time with the company gave her experience in crisis communications at a national level. Now you find her behind the words (and emojis) of Rep Ink’s social media accounts.
Maria is passionate about applying her creativity and people skills to benefit our First Coast community. After over seven years participating in American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events, she is serving a second time as the event lead for the Southeast Jacksonville event. Maria is also an active member of her church and likes exploring the Jacksonville area. She graduated from Bridgewater College in the top 10 percent of her class with summa cum laude honors in communication studies/public relations.
Maria’s happy place is between the sun and the sand with the latest from David Sedaris (or whichever book had the best cover in the Barnes & Noble sale bin). She enjoys browsing Netflix and being active with her husband Kyle while avoiding kitchen duties. She treasures spending the majority of her day with Boomer at the office and hopes to have a dog of her own someday, but never, ever, a cat.
