Reputation Ink, a B2B public relations and thought leadership marketing agency for professional services firms, has once again been recognized as one of the fastest-growing Gator-led businesses, earning a spot for the second year in a row on the University of Florida’s 2025 Gator100 list. The list of 100 fastest-growing companies owned or led by UF alumni is issued annually.

Founded in 2011 by Michelle Calcote King, a dual-degree graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications, Reputation Ink has grown its services and footprint in recent years, also earning a spot two years in a row on the Jacksonville Business Journal’s fastest-growing companies list.

With a fully remote team of former journalists, PR professionals, creative designers and marketing strategists across the country, Reputation Ink serves the legal and architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries. Over the past year, the firm has secured high-profile media placements, launched new thought leadership initiatives and expanded its service offerings to drive measurable results for clients.

King earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations in 1998 and her master’s in international communications in 2000. She received the Outstanding Scholar Award for achieving the highest grade point average of her undergraduate class and was then selected for one of the university’s highly competitive full-tuition graduate assistantships.

The Gator Nation’s influence at Reputation Ink goes even deeper, with UF alumni playing key roles in the company’s leadership and success. In addition to King, vice president of client services, Steven Gallo, and account manager, Sofia Millar, are also proud UF alumni.

Gallo is a former national award-winning journalist who earned his undergraduate degree in telecommunications at UF, where he won a national Edward R. Murrow Award and placed twice in the national Hearst Broadcast News Championship. He also played saxophone in the Fightin’ Gator Marching Band and was a member of Florida Blue Key. Gallo earned his master’s degree in mass communications and served as a graduate instructor in the College of Journalism and Communications.

Millar, a former WUFT-TV and WUFT-FM journalist, earned her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications in 2019. She contributed to UF’s Innovation News Center across digital, radio, television and Spanish news platforms and was awarded the Kenneth A. Christansen Award for exemplary service.

“Being recognized on the Gator100 list is a true honor and speaks to the power and value of a UF education,” said King. “The skills I gained at UF’s College of Journalism and Communications laid the foundation for my career, and I’m incredibly proud to build a company that embodies the values of the Gator Nation.”
