Michelle Calcote King

Michelle Calcote King founded Reputation Ink in 2011 to help professional services firms turn their expertise into influence. After years working across three continents — from London’s tech scene during the dotcom boom to senior agency roles serving corporate law firms across the U.S. — she saw a gap: smart, sophisticated firms often struggled to tell their stories in ways that earned trust, built credibility and drove growth.

What started with a single client has grown into a national agency serving law firms, architecture, engineering, construction and other B2B consultancies. Today, Michelle leads a senior-level team known for exceptional writing, smart strategy and results that matter — all rooted in the belief that expertise alone isn’t enough. It has to be seen, understood and trusted.

Michelle’s leadership has earned her a place on Lawdragon Global’s 100 Leaders in Legal Strategy & Consulting list three years running. She serves on the board of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Southeast Region, has served on the Northeast Florida board of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and completed a three-year term on the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee. She’s been recognized as a “Woman of Influence” and one of Jacksonville Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.”

A sought-after speaker and frequent media contributor, Michelle presents regularly on public relations, content marketing and thought leadership for organizations such as LMA and SMPS. She also hosts Spill the Ink, a podcast exploring brand visibility and marketing strategy for B2B professional services firms, featuring conversations with hundreds of leaders in the legal, AEC and consulting industries.

Michelle’s public relations and marketing career began in London, where she worked for a high-tech PR agency during the dotcom boom. There, she discovered her niche: helping firms take complex, technical ideas and shape them into clear, compelling narratives. From there, she held PR and marketing roles in Australia and the U.S. Southeast, eventually becoming PR director for a regional firm in Jacksonville, Florida, and later, senior vice president at a national agency serving corporate law firms. In that role, she managed a distributed team of senior consultants across 16 states and oversaw client strategy for firms in more than half the country.

Michelle holds a master’s degree in international communications from the University of Florida. Today, she brings that global perspective, combined with deep industry knowledge and a relentless commitment to storytelling, to every client she serves.

More about Michelle

Keeper of Pets, Plants, Passports and Way Too Many Podcast Episodes

When she’s not helping clients earn the visibility they deserve, Michelle’s usually in her Jacksonville backyard, coaxing plants to grow while her three dogs and two cats supervise. She’s a slow-but-determined runner who braves the Florida heat, mostly for the satisfaction of finishing — and the excuse to enjoy an iced coffee afterward.

A passionate traveler, Michelle’s happiest when exploring new cities, cultures and cuisines (bonus points if there’s interesting architecture involved). And whether she’s on a plane, in the garden or out for a run, she’s likely got a podcast playing — from deep-dive interviews to offbeat storytelling — always chasing her next spark of inspiration.
