Michelle Calcote King
Principal & President

Michelle Calcote King launched Reputation Ink in 2011 with a clear purpose: to build a strategic public relations and marketing agency that helped professional services firms translate their expertise into influence. After years of working across three continents — from London’s tech scene during the dotcom boom to senior agency roles serving corporate law firms across the U.S. — she saw a gap in the market: smart, sophisticated firms struggling to tell their stories in ways that resonated with clients, media and decision makers.
Starting with a single client and a clear vision, Michelle set out to change that. Today, she leads a growing team of senior consultants serving a wide portfolio of law, architecture, engineering, construction and other B2B firms across the country. From thought leadership to media strategy to award-winning PR campaigns, Michelle has built an agency known for its clarity, precision and results — all rooted in the belief that expertise alone isn’t enough. It has to be seen, heard and trusted.
Industry leadership
Her industry leadership has not gone unnoticed. Michelle has been named to Lawdragon Global’s 100 Leaders in Legal Strategy & Consulting list for three consecutive years. She is active in both the legal and AEC communities, currently serving on the board of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) Southeast Region, and formerly served on the Northeast Florida board of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). She also completed a three-year term on the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee (Fourth Circuit, Committee B).
Michelle was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as a “Woman of Influence” in 2015 and as one of the city’s “40 Under 40” rising professionals in 2008.
A sought-after speaker and frequent media contributor, Michelle presents regularly on public relations, content marketing and thought leadership at national, regional and local levels for organizations such as the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). She is also the host of Spill the Ink, a podcast exploring brand visibility and marketing strategy for B2B professional services firms, where she has interviewed hundreds of leaders across the legal, AEC and consulting industries.
International experience
Michelle’s public relations and marketing career began in London, where she worked for a high-tech PR agency during the dotcom boom. There, she discovered her niche: helping companies in complex industries simplify their stories without dumbing them down. From there, she held PR and marketing roles in Australia and the U.S. Southeast, eventually becoming PR director for a regional firm in Jacksonville, Florida, and later, senior vice president at a national agency serving corporate law firms. In that role, she managed a distributed team of senior consultants across 16 states and oversaw client strategy for firms in more than half the country.
Michelle holds a master’s degree in international communications from the University of Florida. Today, she brings that global perspective, combined with deep industry knowledge and a relentless commitment to storytelling, to every client she serves.
