Kevin is a multimedia specialist whose eclectic professional experience has prepared him for the rapidly evolving world of communications. After spending nearly a decade playing live music across the country, he put down the bass to focus on his studies, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in multimedia journalism and a minor in photography from the University of North Florida.
Do or do not; there is no try
Performing under pressure is paramount to survival in the sink-or-swim live music industry, and Kevin’s work ethic and professional ability were shaped by the philosophy: “Do or do not, there is no try.” His passion for harnessing creativity to make a difference in the world led him to the news industry, where he worked as an assignment editor and digital content producer at Action News Jax, covering historic events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. Using the investigative skills and media savvy he gained from working in a top-50 news market, he makes sense of complicated issues and creates digestible content for readers of all demographics.
Picture this: A life on the water
As a dedicated surfer and surf photographer, Kevin knows it’s all about location, location, location. When he’s off the clock, you’re most likely to find Kevin bobbing on a surfboard somewhere off the coast of his hometown of Jacksonville Beach. When the waves are flat, he stays active by practicing Muay Thai kickboxing and trying to keep up with his Australian Shepherd, Opal. Kevin considers himself a master of smoked meats and is certain his Dr. Pepper pork butt will knock your socks off.
