Securing speaking opportunities that lead to client engagements

Client situation

LegalEase Solutions is a legal technology company and alternative legal services provider supporting in-house legal departments and law firms with customized solutions for modernizing and streamlining their operations. These cover contract lifecycle management (CLM), remote attorney outsourcing, cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) predictive analytics for litigation and compliance dashboards. LegalEase’s clients include some of the automotive industry’s largest original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and other Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies.

Challenge

2022 was a noteworthy year for LegalEase Solutions. In a widely publicized move, the company acquired an established CLM company that had revamped the contracting workflows of universities, entertainment companies and Fortune 500 businesses. LegalEase also developed AI-driven products aimed at revolutionizing how law departments operate. This included predictive technology that empowered automotive OEMs to better manage warranty litigation, particularly in jurisdictions such as California. 

All of this pushed LegalEase into the headlines. The company’s thought leaders were featured in publications such as Legaltech News, The Recorder and Law360. With our help, LegalEase also won a Legalweek Leaders in Tech Law award and secured a LegalTech Breakthrough Awards honor for LawCompany, a legal services marketplace targeting solo and small firms.

Now, LegalEase wanted to leverage its increased market awareness to pursue speaking opportunities at key industry events. Its leaders wanted to connect more with potential clients in person and asked Reputation Ink’s team for help.

Our solution

Together with LegalEase, we developed a list of targeted events and began tracking calls for speaker submissions and deadlines. We then interviewed the company’s executives to flesh out their unique areas of expertise and value proposition. To help LegalEase choose the right topics and presentation style for a particular conference (i.e. solo speeches, panels, etc.), we also reviewed emerging trends, event themes and past sessions. Once this was in place, the Reputation Ink team prepared submissions, honing them to meet each event’s unique requirements.

Results

Through our collaboration with LegalEase, we secured several speaking placements, including:

  • ILTACON 2023:  LegalEase served on not one, but two panels at ILTACON 2023.
    • The company’s co-CEO served on a panel covering the ingredients behind successful AI-enhanced product implementations. It provided the perfect showcase for his background in AI and cutting-edge technology and brought attention to the company’s category-leading solutions in this area. 
    • The company’s client success director was on a panel addressing successful software and hardware deployments. This helped attendees understand how LegalEase sets itself apart in providing end-to-end customer support through even the most complex projects.  
  • WardsAuto’s AutoTech: Europe: Our team secured a panelist opportunity for LegalEase’s other co-CEO at this Berlin conference. He presented on AI and automotive topics to in-house counsel, executives and IT professionals from some of the world’s largest automotive manufacturers. 

Our strategy of emphasizing his work on a game-changing, AI-powered Lemon Law car buyback app caught the attention of WardsAuto event organizers. At the event, this co-CEO connected with a U.S.-based contact who had longstanding relationships with leading OEM general counsel.
