Public Relations Account Manager

A fully remote, woman-owned public relations and marketing agency focused on B2B professional services firms is looking for a sharp, proactive and detail-obsessed Account Manager to join our team working from home offices throughout the United States.

The ideal candidate:

  • Relishes the idea of working from a home office while doing strategic, high-impact marketing and public relations work for some of the nation’s leading professional services firms, including law firms, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) firms and financial services firms
  • Works well with a tight-knit, friendly and supportive group of colleagues
  • Has excellent interviewing, writing and editing skills and is able to translate complex, technical information into crisp, compelling language
  • Has experience developing story angles, pitching the media, securing interviews and coaching clients on media relations best practices
  • Has the ability to travel to client offices occasionally per client requests (all travel is reimbursed and infrequent)
  • Is adept at using and learning new technologies, such as email, CRM, social media, project management and other collaboration platforms
  • Is an excellent communicator and can build relationships with colleagues, clients, vendors and partners in a remote environment

As a member of our team, on any given day, you will:

  • Brainstorm newsworthy pitch angles and article topic ideas
  • Research editorial calendars and build media lists
  • Pitch a subject-matter expert to serve as a media source on a breaking story
  • Write a wide array of copy for materials such as blog posts, e-books, bylined articles, case studies, infographics, websites, presentations, press releases, fact sheets, press statements, emails, social media posts and more
  • Create B2B marketing communications campaigns, including content, social media, email and more 
  • Collaborate with and oversee graphic designers, digital animators, videographers and other professionals to develop digital marketing assets

Due to the high degree of emphasis we place on strong writing skills, we ask candidates who we believe are a strong fit to complete two to three paid freelance writing assignments as part of the interview process.

  • Accomplishing client objectives within established budgets and deadlines
  • Managing day-to-day public relations activities, paying careful attention to accuracy, quality, client goals/needs, budgets, resources and deadlines 
  • Maintaining close and frequent contact with clients and strengthening rapport between Reputation Ink and the client
  • Developing story angles, researching media outlets and making recommendations to clients on securing media coverage in targeted media
  • Maintaining current awareness of public relations/thought leadership best practices and trends by regularly reading communications publications and blogs; sharing and implementing best practices with clients and team members
  • Serving as the primary point of contact with clients for their accounts
  • Overseeing Account Coordinators on accounts as necessary
  • In consultation with the Account Director, managing workflow and handling work for the account, and delegating to other team members as needed

Account Managers require a minimum of 2-5 years of agency experience, and the salary range for the role is $65,000 to $90,000 (individual salary is dependent on a wide range of factors). We will consider a location-based salary band adjustment for those based in major markets on a case-by-case basis.
